Have you been there lately? I met a friend there a couple months ago and the crowd and atmosphere has changed a lot from the last time I had been there (year and a half ago) They are making it more like a nightclub than a restaurant and from the looks of some of the crowd- it wouldn't surprize me if someone OD'd in there.
Just my opinion of course.
And for the record, I will probably never step foot in there again.

Jake and Al's used to be a pretty good steak house - what happened? The service was always sketchy except for the night CDSulhoff was our waitress, but if you sat at the bar it was fine. Food was very good, except for when our bonehead waiter left it sit on the shelf for 10 mins before he brought it out.
I really hate when a restaurant with such potential crashes and burns through mismanagement.

I think the inconsistencies in food and mediocre servers hurt them. I had some incredible steak in there and I had some not so good steak there.
But they are clearly not catering to the steak and wine crowd anymore. In fact, the last time I was in there- I would have to say it reminded me of the Catamarans crowd...

Agreed.... I used to enjoy a steak from there as well. Not so much anymore. Also, granted they are a steakhouse one night I was in the mood for some fish... Wasn't even fresh, it was frozen. They are no longer in my rotation...
