Undocumented immigrants steal $275K luxury watch in Nassau County: police


GREENVALE, N.Y. (PIX11) — Two men were arrested in connection to the theft of a luxury watch from a jewelry store in Greenvale on July 17, Nassau County police announced Monday.

The incident happened at 3:15 p.m. on July 17 at Loucri Jewelers located at 55 Northern Blvd., officials said.

The two suspects, Petru Magdas, 49, and Petru Munteanu, 28, allegedly distracted the salesperson and stole a $275,325 Audemars Piguet Royal Oak custom diamond watch, police said.

They were apprehended on grand larceny charges on Thursday. Police said the watch was recovered.

Magdas was previously removed from the United States in 2017 and 2018, police said.
