Police responding to St. Mary's Airport for an unidentified aircraft having been told to land there by the FAA. Apparently encroached on the DC ADIZ. Police are to hold/detain them until the Secret Service is on the scene.
8:01 Last location was 4 miles east of the airport. Plane apparently did leave from St. Mary's Airport ealier today. Single enigine.
8:09 State Police have opened the gate to allow units onto the field. 2 officers think they have the right airplane and it is already on the ground. Trooper 7 is RTB from PG County to assist if needed.
8:14 Officers are certain the right individual has been detained and will be holding until the proper authorities arrive.
8:16 Secret Service calling units on the scene via landline.
8:19 Danzig is on the scene
8:23 They are pretty quiet about everything. Likely have been given direction by the appropriate authorities.
8:37 Sounds like several of the units on scene are returning to service. Individual has probably been questioned and he checked out as OK.
Gotta hand it to our local officers. Responded in a professional, organized manner and were in touch with the proper authorities right off the bat.
