Your computer is infected with a ransomware virus called Reveton and Citadel malware. FBI — New Internet Scam Read the FBI link for what to do. Update your antivirus program and install http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Thanks TWL. Does the malwarebytes free download fix the problem; or is a purchase required?

Edit: Do you think that having video downloaders like ant.com is the primary cause of this; and would uninstalling it help anything?

Wirelessly posted (Samsung Galaxy S III )

Basically you are screwed. You will have to do a complete reinstall. Steven never was good with computers.

Okay, so which is it?
Just looking at this Malwarebytes thing; there is a version 1.62.
Running that won't fix nuthin' huh?

malawarebytes if a free download for 30 days, I believe, then purchase is necessary for updates. I'm 95 days past my free trial period, and the computer reminds me daily about that.

It is a good program.

Yes, it does - but only on the known viruses at the time of expiration. Anything after that, if completely new, will not be blocked, but it will still block bugs that it knows from the past.

That from a friend of mine in the computer security industry.

My 401K is now a 201K
Any luck?
Yes, did a system restore to an earlier point; ran Malware (took 8 hours) all my folders were 'hidden' and overall it was not a pleasant fix. Good thing I had another computer to walk me through it. Been keeping a more vigilant eye on Credit cards/bank account activity. OBTW - it wasn't necessarily the Bored website, it was a click on a link that brought all the havoc.
