I read this entire thread and I do not see any cases of anyone being disrepectful to the family and believe me, people can be very disrespectful at times. It is only natural that the immediate family is sensitive about this being discussed in public. But, it is a very important issue and it needs to be discussed. Maybe a few other teens will see the pain this is causing the family and realize that their bad decisions can and will affect their families and not just themselves.
Both wreckless teen driving and drunk driving is a very serious issue in southern Maryland--more so than any other place I've ever been. It's an epidemic so much that Senator Dyson is forever trying to get teen driving restrictions imposed:

DeeJay and I have a friend who was hit head-on by a local teen female who crossed the line. Our friend lost both of her feet and alot else to boot. The medics thought they had a DOA when they arrived on the scene.
Keep a notepad and pencil handy in the car. If you see these kids hotrodding or driving wrecklessly, jot down the plate number and call #77 on your cell to reach the state police. You might just save someone's life.
