While Federal law states a blind raptor MUST be put down within a week or so...Latte has been given incredible attention at the WRE.

Fully blind in one eye from the impact but the other eye has partial if not full sight...the Houston Zoo wants to take our 'lil Latte' and give her a home. Sweet huh? Glad things worked out...Latte' wouldn't have made it through the night with all the coyotes around here. Woohooo!!!!!!!!

YAY!!!!Latte gets a new home!!!- She is so beautiful-I'm so glad she has partial sight so that she gets to be pardoned....I understand why but I don't have the have the heart to say its "the right thing to do!" Hell...my boss BOUGHT a cockateil that was blind from a pet store because he felt sorry for it--named it Stevie after Stevie Wonder--taught it to sing 'My cheri amore"! He kept it for 18 years! till it passed away from old age! I am sure you would want to keep her yourself huh!?

I would, even tried but the fines are extreme...waaaaaa. This way she'll be with a few others in a huge enclosure...should live a long time. It's going to be bad enough moving with a 6 foot plus corn snake:popcorn::whistle:

 Sooo glad to hear it! I have been wondering about her! She is a beautiful bird and even if she can't see all that well she was useful as a adopted mother. I think it's a stupid law! Again, I am glad she is better. :huggy:

"Corney" A celebrity snake?!
Does that mean he gets a shot at the Guiness World Title? How does one know he has "the longest corn snake on record"?

I looked up the Guiness record, then unwrapped him from my neck and measured...beat it by a good margin...

:yay: Glad to hear it. Such a beautiful animal and it would have been a shame to put her down. I hope she lives a long and happy life.
