Our shelter is full. The shelter is in desperate need of fosters. If you can even foster for a short period of time please get to the shelter today before 6 pm. The runs are full and tomorrow some dogs will be transferred. Please foster and save 2 lives the one you foster and the kennel you have opened up!

You have a human society shelter up there? The weather should be just fine for lost humans camping out this time of the year.

I hope you had luck today with the fosters, and opening up more room. We lost both our dogs in the last two years (15 and both from tri county as pups). We have 2 senior cats also from tri county as kittens. We would love to foster, but it would be too traumatic for the cats. Someday, down the road we will be happy to foster. We just will not want anymore permanent pets.

Thank you all. One person fostered, 2 dogs were adopted and one foster mom returns tomorrow to pick up her 2 fosters.

I posted this in another thread. Do you have a list of potential fosters that you call when you're in this type of situation? I read about the HS being full after it was closed for the day Sunday. If I had known, I'd have fostered a dog compatible with the two I have. Is there a way to get notified? Is there a way to talk to someone on staff after hours (by that I mean calling on a closed Monday; not calling someone at home at midnight)?

Once you volunteer and are approved as a foster you are added to a private Facebook group for HSCC fosters/New adopters. In that group you can discuss any problems and help will be given. The plea was issued on this FB group but it was also on the main HSCC FB page. The shelter is closed on Mondays and I don't know of any way to reach them after hours. The runs are still full so if you still want to foster they will help you pick a compatible dog for yours. Thanks. Free training every Sunday from 11 to 12.

Yeah I don't know why it didn't show up in my FB feed until too late in the day to do anything. I'm working all weekend, so I'll try to stop by on Tuesday and get registered. Thanks for the info. :)
We adopted one of our current dogs from HSCC, and he's the best dog we've ever had. :)

You can check out the current dogs on the HSCC website. There is a border collie mix there named Biscuit. If I didn't already have 2 I would foster her in a minute. I am a foster failure. The second dog I fostered I adopted. She was just the right fit. Stop by Tuesday. Your help will be greatly appreciated. You will be saving 2 lives the foster and the kennel you freed up. While you are fostering you will get a crate flea/tick meds and rearguard and any vetting they need while in foster care. Thanks so much.

I follow their FB site, but you know how crazy facebook can be about things showing up in the newsfeed. As far as Biscuit goes, I shared that sweetie the day HSCC posted her picture - she is a cutie - in fact I spent a few minutes looking at her pic on the HSCC page tonight (lol I know, I'm crazy) I can't believe that pretty girl is still there. I don't have the yard for something as lively as a border collie. She's adorable and I'm trying to talk my son into having a look at her - he'd have to bring their overactive male lab along to see if they'd gel.

Me too! They say she is a border collie mix and I cannot believe that no one claimed her. I'm sure his lab would love her. Our border collie and lab loved each other. Our lab passed away so we got a blue tick beagles from HSCC and our border collie loves her. Biscuit just stuck out before I even knew her breed. Thanks. Hope you can still f I sterling. Btw I look at the dog page everyday too.

He's not interested. Looks like he's going to be going away for 10 weeks of schooling and he doesn't want to burden his wife with another dog while he's gone.
