A family member has been transferred to WHC due to bacterial menegitis. She is in the CCU currently on a respirator due to swelling in her brain. At this point, she is in very critical condition. Our family would appreciate you keeping her in your prayers.

I can speak from personal experience, I had it when my son was 6 months old. It is not fun and it takes a while for recovery, although I didn't have it quit as bad as needing a respirator.
My prayers are with you and your family

Our prayers are with your family member. But if I can ask a personal question, where did this person work? Did they attend school? Or work in a school, daycare or anything that they had public contact?

No, she does not work outside of the house.

I am sorry to be abrasive asking such a personal question. I was a Infectious Disease Nurse. I pray for your family member to have a speedy recovery and to be home soon.

Thank you for the prayers. I understand the safety concern for the public. She is in isolation and the hospital requested limited contact. She does have three very young grand children that live with her. They have been placed on antibiotics as a precaution as well as others that had close contact with her.

My prayers are with you.

I was flown to WHC after my accident last year and was in the CCU with brain swelling as well. Please know that that is an AMAZING facility, and she is is the very best hands.
