US Extracted top Russian spy over fears Trump would accidentally expose him

I’m sure you guys will demand an investigation into Trumps mishandling of classified intel immediately

“A person directly involved in the discussions said that the removal of the Russian was driven, in part, by concerns that President Donald Trump and his administration repeatedly mishandled classified intelligence and could contribute to exposing the covert source as a spy.

The decision to carry out the extraction occurred soon after a May 2017 meeting in the Oval Office in which Trump discussed highly classified intelligence with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and then-Russian Ambassador to the US Sergey Kislyak. The intelligence, concerning ISIS in Syria, had been provided by Israel.”

“In the first months of his administration, Trump's handling of classified intelligence further concerned intelligence officials. Ultimately, they decided to launch the difficult operation to remove an asset who had been working for the US for years.

The President was informed in advance of the extraction, along with a small number of senior officials. Details of the extraction itself remain secret and the whereabouts of the asset today are unknown to CNN.”

Basically they said you are so stupid we have to extract this person. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that meeting.

Somebody said something we can't confirm and part of it may have been a security concern. I think we need to find the person who said this and hang them for treason.

It’s called reporting. They use sources and verify them privately and with their legal teams beforehand. Learn something

“Asked for comment, Brittany Bramell, the CIA director of public affairs, told CNN: "CNN's narrative that the Central Intelligence Agency makes life-or-death decisions based on anything other than objective analysis and sound collection is simply false. Misguided speculation that the President's handling of our nation's most sensitive intelligence—which he has access to each and every day—drove an alleged exfiltration operation is inaccurate."
A spokesperson for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declined to comment. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said, "CNN's reporting is not only incorrect, it has the potential to put lives in danger."”

CIA slams CNN's 'simply false' reporting on alleged spy in Russia; Trump sees 2020 in special N.C. election

The Central Intelligence Agency on Monday evening slammed what it called CNN's "misguided" and "simply false" reporting, after the cable channel's chief national security correspondent authored a hole-filled piece claiming that the CIA had pulled a high-level spy out of Russia because President Trump had "repeatedly mishandled classified intelligence and could contribute to exposing the covert source as a spy." The extraordinary CIA rebuke came as the New York Times published a bombshell piece late in the evening, which largely contradicted CNN's reporting. According to the Times, CIA officials "made the arduous decision in late 2016 to offer to extract the source from Russia" -- weeks before Trump even took office.

Why does anyone even pay any attention to CNN anymore; of course, except those that just want to be fed lies that fit their belief that Trump is just evil.

What do you expect the WH press secretary to say" Yep, Trump is so stupid he endangered the life of our top spy in Russia"

Do you not know how anything works?

It wasn't the WH press secretary, it was the CIA. You really should read the stuff you're rebuking, so you can at least pretend to have credibility.

I certainly wouldn't expect the press secretary to say such a thing, especially when it never happened.

Here's the FIRST paragraph you posted: “Asked for comment, Brittany Bramell, the CIA director of public affairs, told CNN: "CNN's narrative that the Central Intelligence Agency makes life-or-death decisions based on anything other than objective analysis and sound collection is simply false.
