I talked to my son about these war games, the rest of the story is the Royal Marines also had US Marines with them and he thought the Dutch were also involved. They were given 80% more air power than the US Marines had available.
The war games were about learning old school methods with the all US Marines on the ground against the new school of war fighting with the Commando/USMarines that had air superiority.

Actually there has never been a true mutiny since 1842. I witnessed a squall you might say when some STUPID pos during a riot said "When the blacks take over the ship"......

Sure, they had their purpose nobody who was there wouldn't deny that. M14's with fixed bayonets at the XO's hand was a convincer, scattered like roaches that they were when the lights thrown on. It went on for a couple days, groups on both sides attacking each other then the instigators were shipped off to Subic never to be seen again.
