First time for me! So what do I need to see and do? Keep us within a 30 mile radius or so. What casinos are interesting for a non-gambler like me? Should we see a show or are they crazy expensive and overrated like Broadway? Any kitschy one of a kind restaurants we need to try?

I know everybody has been to Las Vegas except for me, so I appreciate your tips and suggestions!

Sister is going to see the show Legends tonight. Not sure where it's at. She's staying at a Holiday Inn resort.

Personally, I hated Vegas, but there are some cool things to do.

https://www.vegas.com/shows/cirque-...soleil&utm_content=Cirque du Soleil Las Vegas

Madame Tussauds

Fountain show at the Bellagio

Fremont Street Experience

If you want to get a little rugged, you could always head out to Red Rock Canyon. https://www.redrockcanyonlv.org/

You may also want to consider Hoover Dam, if you haven't seen it.

Just a few things, but I'm sure something else will catch your eye while you're there.

The streets are crowded, and pimps walk around the streets passing out "business cards" for hookers.

We did the tour of the Hoover Dam and Lake Meade, also included a tour through Red Rock Canyon and a home that Howard Hughes once owned. Its located in the middle of the desert, but, its a small oasis. Go to Fremont Street (the original strip) to check out the light show. The Venetian is a cool casino and Treasure Island puts on a free show every night. The fountains in front of the Bellagio are cool. Also, cool tiki bar if you go thru Harrahs. Do Not...I repeat...Do Not...get the 99 cent shrimp cocktail...you'll regret it.

Only been to Vegas once, and my time there was pretty much limited to the expo/conference I was there to attend, and the 5 cent slots in the front lobby of my crappy hotel.

The fountains at the Bellagio are no big deal...

This is why I think I might hate Vegas as well. It's never been on my bucket list, but we're here so I'd be stupid not to go. I'm not hot for big cities with crowds and traffic and crime, I don't gamble, and drunken revelry hasn't been my thing for awhile now. I'm unlikely to do anything that has to stay in Vegas.

I'll probably put $20 in the slots just to say I gambled in Vegas at some ritzy casino. Our RV park is right across the parking lot from a large casino but it's not a name brand so I don't want to waste my money there.

In checking out the online visitor guides, they all say the buffets are an attraction so we might plan for one of those. We're both pretty much over food, too, but like gambling it's one of those things you have to do in Las Vegas.

I think my biggest problem with Vegas was the assault on my senses. It's loud, ping ping noises and blinky lights everywhere, and too many people. It truly was a sensory overload. I wasn't impressed with the buffets. They weren't bad, but I didn't think they were anything worth writing home about. But then, I think most people know how I regard restaurant food, and that most restaurants have a pic of me hanging in the kitchen with the words "BEWARE".

Go to Hash House A Go Go restaurant in The LINQ hotel and get the chicken and waffles. One of the best meals I've ever had. 138032

Probably too late but there are a lot of free shows during the day. My favorite was Mac Browns Magic Show. I also loved seeing the Blue Man Grouo and the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.

For gambling the smaller places are better because they have lower table limits, but i like playing craps and roulette.

I also enjoyed Wolfgang Pucks resturant and the buffet at the Luxor, ate there cause thats where the BMG was.

I don't know how to do either of those things. I can play blackjack and I can press the slot machine button (which is so mindless I don't know how anyone can stand it), but I don't really enjoy either and don't understand the attraction to recreational gambling. But MAN is there a ton of it here! Like, a thousand casinos and every one of them filled with people blowing their money. They have video slots in the grocery store.

I like skill games - Skee-Ball, I like that. But games of pure chance are boring.
