Vegetable Plants

Vince

......
Various places for plants. Lowes has some, but I usually go to Zimmerman's above Leonardtown. Plant squash and beans from seed. Usually about 15 to 20 tomato plants various kinds....yellow, beefmaster, grape tomatoes, cherry, etc. Hot peppers of all kinds especially jalapenos. White and Red onions. Lettuce and anything else I come across. Oh, forgot the pickling cucumbers....I always forget to plant those.

We seed/set plant: potatoes, onions, peas, beans, beets, turnips, radishes lettuce

We seedling plant: tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, melons

IMO, If you plan to plant the above "seedling" list this year, you will want to go with seedlings rather than seeds because you should have started seeds by now. Also, I find that getting seedlings from the Amish make for much sturdier, healthier, hardier plants than the spindily seedlings I've ever been able to grow.

The James Forrest Tech Center is having their seedling plant sale tomorrow morning. They sell both veggies and flowers.

I'll have to try them. Didn't know. Where are they located?

When you are going north on 2/4, you can see them on the corner of the back road that goes into St Leonard; a couple miles before the light. Besides annuals, perennials, trees, etc, they also sell seafood, jams, jellies, eggs, fresh fruit & veggies in season, breads etc

I met the young man that owns it when he first started out and have watched him grow. I have always gotten great product from his place and he has a very nice staff.

I've seen it a thousand times and never realized they sold plants.

I drove by there yesterday when I was taking some donations to the SPOT Thrift shop. They have a few hanging baskets out and some stuff in the "annual and veggie" area but certainly not what they usually have when it gets closer to planting season. For annuals, I think it is May 1st.
I wanted to stop but I had Dexter with me and no leash.
I am itching to get my flowers planted - I love attracting flutterbys and hummingbirds and having flowers for cutting :flowers:

Got to get the garden tilled this weekend and onions in the ground if I feel any better. Still coughing and sickly, but this stuff has got to get done.

If you've done nothing else in life... you've made me stop and think twice everytime I look at petroleum plants...

Hmm...that might fit on the billboard I intend to be my grave marker...

"Here lies Larry's mausoleum. He got people to not improperly use petroleum"

:lmao:
