Here is a youtube slide show that compares the conditions of Venezuela before and after the dictator's rise. Note: profits from oil have skyrocketed...does that help the economy...the common people? Libraries? hospitals? parks? business incentives? tax breaks?

Only Socialism/marxism can ruin a society this fast....

(it does run about five minutes....but is also followed by an interesting discussion.)

Although some truth and sadness, we can see a lot of the same sad changes here in the US...

I would agree...to some degree...

Certain urban centers...dying by the cancer of high cost unions, burdensome social programs, high crime rate, moral depravity, and liberal overspending would

a) Force politicians to cut upkeep of parks & playgrounds (ploy to raise taxes higher)

b) Cause businesses to flee to cheaper, welcoming communities.--empty of workers and property taxes.

c) Children are not taught to respect and honor their founders or the property of others-produces a reckless, self centered, moral-free culture.

However, I have seen a lot of effort ot preserve architectual & historic sites, build more museums, hold more cultural events, and encourage enterprise zones.---much of this depends on the willingness of leaders to WORK and not squander resources.
