Not sure if this is the right place to do it, sorry if not. I am beginning to get really irritated about personal vehicles sporting the police sticker (black and blue striped) driving like lunatics. This morning I was on 5 going toawrds DC. After SoMd hospital, I was in the middle lane. Close to on ramp where people from allentown road are, I moved to the right lane. Only to have a beige truck with the sticker fly up on my bumper as I guess he saw a straight away and gunned it from the middle lane about 6 cars behind me. Well obviously i wasnt going the 90 he was looking for me to go so he passed me and the car in front of me to the right, going into the onramp and then continuing onto the shoulder until he found room to get back in probably a quarter of a mile later. I dont know if the driver was the actual officer him/herself or their husband of wife or even kid. But I have noticed that some of the worst drivers in MD usually have that sticker on their vehicles. Even if they are trained to drive like crazy people, that supposed to be while on duty and in the event you NEED to. Not to get you to work on time. And that assuming its the officer themself. I guess it makes me upset to becuase they are supposed to be setting an example. But I guess they feel they dont have to obey the rules like everyone else and its not like they will actually get a ticket anyways.

Where can I get a sticker so I can drive like a lunatic!??! :tantrum

You better hope the cops don't see you.

I am by no means saying all of them. There are plenty of people that drive like lunatics. However they arent representing the police force on their vehicles is what I am saying. If you are in the military and get in trouble off base, you can get reprimanded by the military becuase you are still a representation of the service even if you arent on duty.

The stickers are easy to get. Check ebay, or get one made up. It is only a black sticker with a blue stripe. Any decal place could make one up for you.

If you could drive fast and not get in trouble for it why wouldn't you? No cop is going to give another cop a ticket for speeding. Whoever wrote the ticket will be looked down upon by everyone they work with. Plus it would make for an uneasy work environment.

NOT Politically Correct!!
I don't have such problems, when I drive most people are behind me or soon to be behind me...

Good thinking. That is reminds me of one of the first things they teach you in motorcycle riding school. It is safer to drive faster than the flow of traffic. That way you only have to worry about the idiots in front of you and not the idiots behind you.

Your name... :faint: k_jo is not going to be happy about this!

That is partly true, a cop wont give another cop a ticket, but they will pull you over and make sure your a cop. Sticker or not....

I used to play hockey with a cop. When we car pooled, he would speed. He got pulled over all the time, flashed his badge, and he was on his way.

If you have a sticker and cant prove your a cop or married to one, your getting a ticket.

Hey, you! :howdy:

How have you been? Long time, no see.

If you come over for the Troop 7 games this year, give me a call. I want you and the Mrs. to come to dinner.

I guess it just spites me becuase they are doing it becuase they know they can. If the sticker wasnt there I would never know they were a cop or married to one and when they got pulled over I would never know the difference that they were getting out of it by flashing the badge. I think its the fact that its like parading that they can break the law and get away with it and everyone knows they wont get a ticket. For me ignorance is bliss in that circumstance. Just take the D@%# sticker off, speed all you want, get pulled over and get out of it with the badge!

The blue sticker is not to get out of a ticket, it is more like a sign of "brotherhood" among fellow cops. I have one on my car, and just paid a $180 speeding ticket. I would never use the hubby is a cop excuse. Sure, most cops in the same law enforcement field look out for each other, but if they do not know you or work with you, it does not mean crap.

I completely understand where you are coming from. But by having that sticker on the vehicle you are in some way representing law enforcement. I'm not mad because you do or dont get tickets. This morning that truck was driving completely irratically. The fact that the sticker was on there just resulted in a very poor represenentation of the police force. Speeding is one thing but driving down the shoulder and making unsafe passes is ridiculous. It's like "Don't you know any better!?!" You would pull me over in heart beat if I would have thought about it. I just think it looks poorly upon law enforcement when a vehicle representing law enforcement drives like that.

I bought a jeep from a cop back in '98. It still has that black and blue sticker on it. They are a MO-FO to get off. It's faded, but still there. I haven't noticed any changes in my driving habits since owning that jeep. I have been called a few choice names though, and been accused of being a little over-aggressive with it when 4 wheelin, but...

Im On 1.
:lmao: That driver you described was me - and I DONT have a sticker!!

It is the most annoying thing when a driver for no particular reason will move from the middle lane to the right lane and slow his ass down UNDER the speed limit.

No wait.........

It is the most annoying thing when a driver for no particular reason will move from the middle lane to the left lane and slow his ass down to like 55.

I really have no sympathy for you.....People are trying to get to work in the morning and you have these slow pokes causing accidents and backing up traffic.
