No, Venus is rising before dawn these days. If what you're seeing is in the east, then it's Mars (Uranus is also in the east, but I can't see Uranus, Mitzi! ). To the south are Jupiter and Saturn.

While Uranus is pretty big it's rather far away so it can be hard to see.

Then it was Mars. I read something about Mars and Venus recently but couldn't find the article. It really was pretty. I love to star gaze even though I can rarely identify anything.
