Verizon Call Plans

FYI!:

Verizon has new family call plans.. I went online yesterday to see if I could do something to alleviatte my atrocious phone bills.

Between my oldest son and daughter they get me every month with overages.. My daughter with using up the shared minutes, and my son with his out of network texting..

The new family plan includes unlimited message, pix and video texting to inlcude IM'ing to ALL networks, on ALL phones in the plan. You don't pay extra fees per phone, and it covers any and all networks not just Verizon.

Figure this will save me about $50 a month.

:yeahthat: My 14 year old covers any cost over the amount I agree to pay for.
My daughter does much better now that I started taking her phone from her weeks at a time. ANytime my account gets close to going over minutes, I take her phone.. Haven't had to do that in a few months now.. but apparently my son has a new "out of network" girlfriend.. no matter how many times I tell him, no non-verizon girl friends.. he just doesn't listen. Some times I have him pay the difference but most times I pay it.. $30 or $40 goes a long way when you are working and going to school full time. AND he's a really good kid (adult) if this is the only problem he's going to give me (and so far this has been the ONLY problem he has given me) than I'm game to paying.

I know what ya mean, Bob...imagine if they got married and had to raise children in a Verizon/Sprint or Verizon/Cingular household. How confusing that would be for them? It's just not fair to the kids! :killingme

Yes... I know....:stupid: I'm tired. Give me a break. :lmao:

I wish they would come up with a higher minutes use. I have the highest and I still go over and end up paying over $225 a mnth.

Let me ask a question. Why do you let your kids have cell phones? When my guys are home, they have to use the 'house' phone. When they are out I make sure I give them "a couple of dollars" every day so they don't have an excuse for not having any money to give me a call. In case of an emergency they can call me collect!

My 14 year old son has one because he is always busy here there and everywhere. He has some close friends that are either over here or he is over there. They rebuild motors, do work on local farms for extra cash, help out on catering jobs, do work for their church or elderly people, etc. and I want to be able to call him at a moments notice. I also want him to always have access to a phone. My 12 year old daughter on the other hand stays put either here or over a friends house and is always a phone call away. I have no plans of getting her a phone anytime soon.

$2 x 30 days in a month comes to $60 per month. That would way more than cover the cost of a cell phone. My oldest son has one and it's $10 extra each month on the family share plan also added the unlimited texting for another $5. I have his phone restricted so he can call and receive calls only to and from me and his Mom. If he has friends who are also on Verizon, I add them as well since those calls don't run up the minutes.
