Verizon scam???

Some company called NFCI or some such just called and told me they have been contracted by Verizon to handle their billing because Verizon had to make some change in their service charge that would cost me $10 more a month and Verizon, because they love me, contracted this company to do the billing and if I permitted it, there would be no increase.

I asked her why Verizon wouldn't be making this call to me and she said they sent something about it 90 days ago and I didn't respond therefore she was following up. I asked for an e mail explaining all this and she said...CLICK.

So, FWIW.

Someone is BSing. I just got a call from Verizon to renew my cell phone contract, no price change, more minutes, and they would be billing me the same bill I've been getting. Only change is a few months ago I had my regular Verizon bill combined with my wireless bill, but I've been getting that.

I got the same call a number of months ago. I did the same as you... CLICK. Never did pursue trying to find out if it was real or not, but I'm suspecting Verizon would have sent out a notice to that effect if was real. I never remember seeing any notices.

...when I simply asked for the details in an e mail SHE hung up on me!

God bless the internet; just send me an e mail and I'll get back to you! :lmao:

Larry, I'm a retired 30+ year Verizon employee and this is a scam that should be reported to Verizon immediately so they can investigate it. Verizon will not call anyone to solicit their products. If you get an email, sent it to: (spamdetector.notcaught@verion.net) and I'd send a copy to (spam@uce.gov) also. Otherwise call the business office 301.954.6260 and tell them the number and name if you have it on your caller ID.

They do call to change your service or upgrade it. They call me to offer new wireless plans with more minutes and a larger area, but for the same price.

Let me also clarify here, I'm talking about the "copper wire" side of Verizon (and I think Larry is too), not the wireless side. Verizon wireless is their own company (non union) and has it's own set of rules but they better not call me either because I opted out of ANY solicitation calls from either side. In the past I have received emails with Verizon headings on them that stated my internet useage was exceeded for the month. I have DSL with NO limit so I sent it to Verizon and they said it was a scam and NOT to reply to it. I always call direct on the phone to verify before I reply to an email of that kind.
