Verizon vs. Comcast

I'm going with one company for all three (phone, cable, tv). I'm leaning towards Verizon's Triple Play. Right now they offer over 200 channels, Showtime for a year, free dvr and $150 visa card. Cost $124 a month. What's the opinion here of Verizon vs Comcast? TIA.

Verizon is WAAAAAAY more dependable! I have been with them since 2000 and have NEVER had a major problem!

Who do you have right now? and how do you go to switching? My cousin was just talking to me this weekend about how she switched to verizon to have everything billed together and she really liked it.

I have Comcast for cable and internet and verizon for phone. Totals $170 a month and that's just basic cable. I'm guessing you just tell whomever you want and they take it from there.

Would this be for FiOS? Or Direct TV bundled?

No computer???????? About time to get up to date. LOl. Just messing with you. I would go with verizon because I have comcast and I am always having problems. I think i pay way too much for what I am getting. I want FIOS, but I am in an apartment and they don't offer it there...

Let me explain DSL for you.

With DSL you are using YOUR phone line for internet service so YOU are the only person on that internet service.

With cable THOUSANDS are using that line for internet service and your speeds and trouble tend to go up and down.

With DSL no ups and downs, consistent speed all the time.

To me DSL is ever so much worth it!

if you will
Who has FIOS yet? I'd like to know if the whole house HD DVR works well, and if they use the house's coax to carry the signal from the DVR to each TV that isn't located next to the DVR.

And if somebody has the full "Extreme HD" package with FIOS along with whole house DVR, phone, and internet, how much are we talking?

They just ran the fiber optic down our street, so I'm assuming FIOS will be available soon.

The verizon lady told me that FiOS isn't available until 6-8 months after it's complete in the ground.

I had a flyer come in the mail friday for the triple play. It said the offer was only good until the 21st. $89.99 a month for the 1st year. I haven't compared the channels available to what i have with Metrocast yet but it sounds like a good deal.. And I'm not sure WHAT the price goes up to after the 1st year is up. It's not listed in the fine print that I saw..

That sounds like a great deal. I have comcast and I pay around $85/month for one cable box (its is hd) and internet. No phone, no movie channels.
