Very interesting read...

Actually, at first I thought this was a joke, but it is indeed very interesting. I think it's a long shot, however there are pieces of his theory that will enable others to go further with their research.

I read about this a couple weeks ago, I didn't understand the theory much. But I guess to people that are alot smater than me, it makes alot of sense.

Everyone is smart in their own way.

Believe me. I'm not a brain surgeon.

Things upstairs didn't actually click for me until after I got out of the military and went back to school. I was more of the jock type when I was a kid. Heh.

Yeah well I think I have hit my peak, that kind of stuff is certainly not in my wheel house.

He predicts 20 new particles. 20. That's not a trivial number. Well, when the Large Hadron Collider comes online in mid-2008 we'll see if his predicted particles show up or not.

Thanks!

Ak- I've been an avid closet string theory fan for a while, and been in love with Einstein and ELVIS since I was a little girl. When you have an interest in things, then it's not necessarily being smarter, just nerdy. :nerd:

Your user name looked like it read "LatexApe" on first glance becuase of the capitalization and the mental image of a big Latex-clad Gorilla made me

The explanation took all the fun out of it. Thanks. I can see you're gonna be a hoot.:ohwell:

WOW - I am going to have to go back to this later when I am not at work  - but wow is all I can think of right now. I got goose bumps - basically with the way he's presented it - he has combined the standard model with general relativity and truly does have theory for everything...bye bye string theory. :faint:

This is supposed to bridge the gap between general relativity and quantum physics.

If a GUT is ever realized it will only lay the foundation. Physics would still be far from complete. Having equations doesn't translate to being able to calculate with those equations.

But, the significance of this is amazing...

Man... I had all kinds of jokes and one-liners ready, and I was trying to choose one when I read the article.

All my jokes are obliterated by ugly facts.

I was going to say something like, "I wonder if this theory came to him while he was riding some premo ganja, and he was all like "Whoa!" when it hit him" and stuff like that.

Me too!! I love the string theory..and it makes sense!!!
Einstein is my hero ...and I kept it a secret for fear of being make fun of.
What boy would like a girl is she loved physics and theroies?

This theory of Everything is a concept worked on by Einstien up to his death.
Not many of his peers thought it was a practical theory and in a way, "made fun" of it..Some say he still working on it when he died.

And why not a surfer dude...he has a lot of free time and clean space to work this out instead of being crammed into a university...
Hard to expalin...but I am going back to read more of this theory..
Thnaks for posting this!
