Vet bills

The cost of vet bills just makes me sick. Today I spent $258 on two cats with respiratory infections (included the office visits and medication). And there is nothing you can do about it :banghead: I love my cats and I only want them better.

I know that feeling. One of my cats had crystals and it cost about 300.00 and then had to buy some special expensive food to get rid of them and a while ago I had one that had cancer which cost a little to but she passed away.

well my 6yr old cat when he got really sick costed me 410.00 the first visit as they did everything under the sun and then the second visit costed me 130.50 and he is now on prescription food and that costs me 31.50 every week or every week and 1/2 or so and I think he will be on that til he passes away. Right now he is doing good so we know hes got a while left with us we think.

I think she meant there's nothing you can do about the vet bill (besides pay it, I imagine )

I lucked out and have a wonderful vet. When Oliver had that terrible URI, she stopped charging me for office visits (I was in there 2 or 3 times a week for a month) and was giving me a discount on meds. Truly above and beyond, and I was expecting to pay full price. I love her. :yay:

Good luck! I tried the prescription food but the urinary tract formula seems to be working from the store right now and it's been months so I'm thankful for that.

My cat doesn't have a uti...hes very ill they aren't sure what hes got but hes on the a/d diet to get him to put some weight on as he lost 4lbs. He has now become the family pig not going through as much wet food as I was so I now have to buy it i think once every week 1/2 to 2 weeks he eats about a can a day if that or sometimes 2 it just depends on him and what he wants to eat.

If you are military, or related, there is the Base Vet. They don't do emergancy care, but this is a good way to save some $$ on your routine stuff.

My mom use to bring her cat to the Base vet and was very dissatisfied. They could very well be a great place, but I trust her judgment. As for the well pet, I've been there before and they were nice. But when I woke up Monday and my cats could barely open their eyes, I felt I had to take them to their normal vet.

What did they do for them? What did they put them on..
