The BayNet reporting on COVID-19 has been abysmal. They just echo raw data from other sources and don't seem to think about what they're reporting. I've emailed them (Zach Hill) several times about obvious errors in their reporting and have never seen a response, and never seen any change in the things that I told them about. So I wouldn't put much weight on any BayNet story.

The MD DoH COVID-19 web page for congregate living facilties doesn't list any data for Calvert County, which is interesting because I know that Asbury Solomons had one case. They listed it on their website, and I know one nurse that care of the patient personally. Yet Calvert doesn't even exist on that table or bar charts.

You do realize there is no "reporting" in SoMD? The local rags / slander sites, just reprint official press releases / statements from various agencies.
Then they allow "people" to post comments. So you have propaganda followed by gossip.

Entertainment value. There is very little to no "reporting", no putting together facts. They take the statement and publish.
Then the radio stations repeat what was published.

Nursing home residents are not counted in the county of the nursing home but rather in the county they resided in before they moved there. Staff is counted in their county of residence. That's why the data from nursing home outbreaks is so confusing. Also, numbers smaller than 5 are not reported.

I don't think a "Zack Hill" even exists. For such a prolific writer, on a web based platform only, one would think there'd be a picture of him somewhere. Or, even a journalistic bio, somewhere, at a minimum, on the bay net's website itself. But nope. He is nowhere to be found. Maybe 'ole Zack is just a computer algorithm writing these articles?
