I disagree with the way this bill would effect the people of Maryland.
I have taken my name off of the bill and will not support it during our voting sessions.
Thank you for your note and please contact me if you have any additional concerns.

Will also paste my original e-mail if requested, not my best work, but I liked it! Oh heck with it.. here it is!!

I've read that you are in support of HB 424. I'm lost as to what to think of your thought process on this. Am I, the owner of a personal vehicle that meets the 6000 lb requirement, not already paying an exorbitant, and even more then my fair share, of 'road tax' on my vehicle? Now you deem it necessary to soak me for another $750? Who exactly do you represent, your constituents or your party?

I choose to drive a large vehicle, it's one of the safest vehicles on the road, and I willingly pay for a lot of gas to operate this vehicle. I knew when I bought it I would get less then average gas mileage, but thought that a fair trade for the security, and the added protection of driving it. In so doing, with my commute and the MPG my vehicle gets, I'm positive that I am already paying $750 a year in 'road taxes', just in the fuel tax the state is already collecting. So if we add all the taxes up, the income tax you charged me when I made the money, the sales tax you charged me when I spent the money to buy the truck, and then the gas tax every time I drive to work, I think Im ahead on the deal and you should be refunding me $750 a year.

And, oh by the way, look at what California is contemplating doing to Hybrid cars. They've realized that those of us the drive the 'gas guzzlers' you seem so opposed to, are the ones that are actually paying to keep the highways in shape, and for the building of new ones. They are so concerned with lost revenue from gas taxes, that they want a mileage tax.

Thank you for being open and willing to re-think your position. Apparently, Thank God, you aren't as dumb as you look..

Have a hard time maintaining serious discussion and debate on a mature level..

Actually, never stated a position. My post is based on on how ludicrous this tax/bill is. We are taxed enough! On your side :yay:

I'm really surprised at the Delegates that are sponsoring this bill. Only a few are from the ghetto districts but the most are from middle Montgomery and Howard. That area is bumper to bumper with SUV's. Joanie Stern's neighbors are probably throwing rocks at her house right now.
