Have you tried Windows Media Maker? comes on XP and i would imagine Vista as well. It's very basic, easy to use and best of all Free.
My version of Windows Media Maker doesn't support .mov files....
To all, as I said I know nothing about video files. I upgraded my Canon DSLR body and it takes HD video as well. I went to Best Buy, Staples, and other non-worthy electronic stores and they didn't have the Sony Vegas app, so I ended up with the Adobe Premiere Elements 7. I guess I'll see how it works, I'm installing it now.
Thanks for the advice though, even if I couldn't use it!
