would like to transfer some video of son playing sport to computer so I can write it to CD. Very confusing. Anyone know how to do this or is there an easier way. We want to keep CD's in case college interest. I have a JVC digital cameral but it really has no instructions on how to do this. Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.:howdy:

Just about all new camera's come with software and a cable so you can transfer your pictures (images, video, etc.) over to your computer. The easiest way to do it is to remove the memory stick from your camera and read it into your computer. If don't have any device that will hold your memory stick - take the memory with you and run up to RadioShack, Best Buy, etc. and pick up a reader.

Thanks. All I got is a USB cable and don't know about the software yet. Sorta bad about sitting down and reading everything. I miss my old monster that recorded right on VHS when it was popular.

If you happen to have Windows Moviemaker, you probably could just plug the camera in (I use FireWire instead of USB) and it automatically detects the camera and takes you through the steps for copying the movie to your hard drive, then you can burn it to disc with your CD/DVD Burning software (a lot of PCs come with Sonic)

Do you have a MAC or a PC?

Now either way I'm sure we can help you. What is the model number of the camera? Most likely it is already in a format that you can just burn onto CD. Have you tried just plugging it into your computer? If so what type of file is it? Are you able to open it up on your computer and it plays?

This could be very easy, and most likely is once we know the basics.

All I did was plug my VHS player in to the computer using the old RCA plugs. Have Windows Media Player and it is easy. Downdload to to hard drive and burn DVD. Also able to hook-up old record player to convert my old records to CD.
