Video to DVD

gumby

I AM GUMBY DAMMIT
I have an older(non digital) camcorder that I am able to run off on to VHS tapes. I have a DVD Burner in my PC but don't know how to use it. Can I buy a cable that adapts from a VCR to a USB port? If there is such cable, what software is good for this? Can I buy the same cable to adapt from my video camera to my PC??

TIA

Would THIS face lie?
Do you have a place on your camera that you can plug into....I have some cables that might work....I have software too....I don't have a DVD burner though....Stop by sometime and we'll see what we can do....I can get it from my camera to the computer but I can't burn DVDs....

:yeahthat: You'll need some type of video capture card in order to get it to DVD. Then you just hook up the VCR to the card using the RCA jacks. Powerdirector is a decent pretty user friendly program to help edit/burn your video to DVD.

Yes. Sparky is right. You need to install an "all-in-one" audio/video card. Be sure to double check that it has INPUT capability. Many of the audio/video cards out there are mainly for output only, such as to a TV and you don't realize that it doesn't input. Once you have that capability, the rest is easy.
