Congratulations Virginia! You just voted on something based solely on events happening in other states involving, mostly, someone who does not have a direct say in what happens within your state.
Sounds like Democrat thinking to me...

You forget that Texas started it 9and did it to deliberately tipt the national scales in their favor )and it was a cynical power grab. They were warned this would be the result.

Disenfranchising almost half the state's citizens and removing their right to representation...yeah, that's what Democrat democracy looks like.

And they dare call *Trump* a fascist dictator....

Texas did it first but you were silent then? Wonder why?

Guess the Virginia Republicans should have turned out to vote.

They will. Look at Mamdani and Hochul - they appear to be having a blast. Look at Maryland - almost exclusively Democrat congressional representation, and they seem to be enjoying themselves. Democrats are happiest when they have absolute power.

Because Texas was trying to beat back the Socialists, not enlarge their power.

That's the thing about Socialism: everyone wants it....until they get it. But then it's too late.

FACT: Nobody is risking their life to flee the US and emigrate to a Socialist/Communist country.

Texas was ordered to redraw because they decided the districts already drawn violated the Voting Rights Act. It’s against the VRA to draw districts that disenfranchise people by race.

However doing it by political alignment - sadly, that’s legal.

I don’t overlook the fact that Texas found a way to advantage themselves. But they didn’t do it capriciously. They were compelled and they took advantage of.

Virginia and California DID do it in front of God and everyone - yep, we’re cheating to gain advantage but so what?

What we need is something in how Parliament is selected in Canada - vote by party and reps are chosen proportionately.

Because there’s states where 30, 40 percent of the voters have no voice at all.

So again it's ok when Texas does it to " beat back the socialists"

But not when Virginia does it to "beat back the fascists"?

So you are a two wrongs DO make a right Democrat.... got it :yay: And thanks for proving that Democrats do, in fact, double down on idiocy.

So you agree it was idiocy when Trump started this ?

Trump tells Texas Republicans to redraw the state congressional map to help keep House majority

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he is pushing Texas Republicans to redraw the state’s congressional maps to create more House seats favorable to his party, part of a broader effort to help the GOP retain control of the chamber in next year’s midterm elections.

The president’s directive signals part of the strategy Trump is likely to take to avoid a repeat of his first term, when Democrats flipped the House just two years into his presidency. It comes shortly before the GOP-controlled Texas Legislature is scheduled to begin a special session next week during which it will consider new congressional maps to further marginalize Democrats in the state.

Asked as he departed the White House for Pittsburgh about the possibility of adding GOP-friendly districts around the country, Trump responded, “Texas will be the biggest one. And that’ll be five.”

Not true.

Trump started it for blatant political purposes

I believe thay gerrymandering and redrawing districts to get an unfair advantage with voting outcomes by ANYONE is wrong.
I believe that copying something because "well.. they did it first" in another state... and because of someone who has little to no say about the governance of your state... is IDIOCY!
