Virus. Please save me.

So my computer keeps rebooting. I have run the spybot and it has come up clean, but I think I have a virus it is not finding. I also just got this run time error which further validates my concern. Error Message: Runtime Error 216

So what do I do? Do I need to buy the full version of a security program? Which one? How do I know what is already installed (control panel - programs?) since I know you shouldn't have more than one. Do I uninstall malware and spybot then? Am I best off having someone overhaul my computer or can I do this myself? I am computer literate but more database than this stuff.

I really really appreciate any input.

It could be overheating. Open it up, clean out the vents, the heat sink, make sure the CPU fan is working. Re-seat the memory chips.

Be careful using a standard vacuum, they can create static electricity.

Run your virus scan and spyware scans in safe mode. Sometimes that's the only way they can be found. Run it twice but reboot between scans. To get to safe mode, try tapping F8 on start up until it gives you the option. I use Microsoft Security Essentials. IT's free and does very well.
