“‘Can we transfer our bar tab to our table?’ Um ... bartenders work for tips too, people! If I transfer your tab to your table, the waiter's check gets padded with my sales and I get nothing. Next time, try saying it with a ten or twenty spot and I'll be glad to transfer your tab!"

I never thought of this. ASSumed that the waiter would hook the bartender up with their share of the tip.

Now I know for the future.

I didn't know this either, but for some reason I always cleared my bar tab before being seated for dinner. I guess I figured if I didn't the bill would get screwed up.
