Any thoughts on buying a computer from Wal-Mart or their selection? The prices are good and I don't need anything big or fancy. :shrug:

Better off going to Best Buy. Wait for Sundays ads. Hell, you can get a Dell for under $400. :doh:

I always bought computers at Wal Mart and never really had a problem. Went to Best Buy this time because of a sale and have had nothing but problems with this computer.

they are in fact the worst buy.

Build your own or go to Ibuypower.com

If you're only using it for Office and e-mail, Dell will be fine, but if you want to use it for games etc, I buy power is pretty cheap and pretty good.

Wal Mart carries brand name PCs..the little E-Machines are made by HP.
Same ones sold at Best Buy..etc.
Both sell the standard brands: Dell, HP, Gateway..
Get a small one and install biger hard drive and more memory and you should be ok..
All stores have good computers..but..IF it breaks, where are you going to take it?
I think with WalMart it gets shipped back to plant.
Best Buy..they want you to bring it back to them (danger , danger...)
Same with Office Depot and Staples.
I bought a simple $400 e-machine from Best by for my 12 yo and have never had a problem with it!! :howdy:

Normal everyday things...home e-mail, small easy games, internet, home pics.

I don't need anything special just a computer that can run with DSL and doesn't cost a bunch (under $700).

Never had a problem with my Compaq. I've replaced close to everything in my DELL, runs great now. I've upgraded and effed with EVERY computer I have. RAM, VIDEO, anything I can.
