Soon Wal-Mart customers will be able to sample a new discount item:

Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is
teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of California, to produce the
spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-5 range.

Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart
brand into their shopping carts, but "there is a market for cheap
wine", said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing. She said: "The
right name is important."

So, here we go: The top 10 suggested names for Walmart Wine:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. White Trashfindel
8. Big Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir

The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with white meat

This wine won't be available at the California Wal-Mart. As I understand it, licenses for selling liquor for off-premises consumption have to be held by county residents. Don't know if the same is true for on-premises consumption, since you can order drinks at chain restaurants like Damon's.

Hmmm, being a lush, and having spent many , many of my fondest moments in bar rooms and liquor stores, all the way back to child hood and Daddy's Wild Irish Rose. I have never had the pleasure of partaking in the Ripple. I have never even seen a bottle. :ohwell:


I work in a liquor store, and I am a big fan of wine. Unfortunatly, my best customers are still heading straight to the Boone's and MD20/20...:otter:

I'm kidding, it's highly likely it's not being made anymore. That sh!t goes back to when i was a teenager, and there's no way I'm gonna tell ya when THAT was!!

Oh, that sounds like a riot.:lol: No more MD20/20 for me, I got sicker that a dog drinking that stuff years ago; haven't touched it since.

Now some good Sangria might be what we can share, brand name I'm not sure of - something like Yago - tall green bottle with a orange and white/black label. MMMMMMM!

Probably need a couple of bottles, maybe $6.00 each. :angel:

Boone's Farm makes a Sangria for 2.92 a bottle!!

I hate MD myself, I like wine that costs more than a box of Philly Blunt!!!!

Can I be honest with you?

I've long passed the time when I drink a cheap wine to get high with.
It hurts too much the next morning. It ain't that much fun anymore.:ohwell:
