Waldorf Bank Robbed by Old Timer

On August 12, 2006 at 10:20 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Maryland Bank & Trust located at 3175 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the report of a bank robbery. The investigation revealed that the suspect approached a teller, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller complied and the suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There were 5 bank employees and 1 customer in the bank at the time of the robbery. None of the bank’s employees or the customer was injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 60 years of age, balding with gray hair and tattoos on his forearms. He was wearing a white button short sleeve shirt.

The surveillance cameras in the bank captured a photograph of the robbery and suspect.

Heard that on the scanner. To my understanding they didn't catch the guy but the scanner doesn't always tell everything. Within an hour of this another bank on Leonardtown Road had a robbery alarm go off and my first thought was the guy didn't get enough and wanted more. Turned out to be a false alarm however.

Sounds like the infamous "wig lady", who I believe is still out there-

Investigators say the wig lady has stolen more than $200,000 from her victims' bank accounts and hit pretty much every major bank branch in our area. These events have occurred throughout the Washington DC Metro area and include local residents along with tourist or visitors to the area

She is described as a white or light skinned black female, well dressed, wearing different styles/colors of wigs, scarf’s or hats. Her age is unknown but it is believed that due to the age of the targeted victims and the various photographs that she is in her 40’s to late 50’s. Detectives have determined that the female is often accompanied by a well dressed black male, 40–50 year range, clean shaven, mustache, glasses, who wears a derby style hat.

Waldorf IS going ghetto. This is just the exception that proves the rule.
