I took my dogs there about a month ago.. Thought i was going for a quick walk.. 3 hours later i had finished the loop around the whole place.. I'm not sure who was happier to be done the walk.. Me or the dogs! :lmao:

Yeah my dog wanted to be carried the rest of the way. He went home, and crashed. (He is a big dog, and was not carried)

Myrtle Point Park has some nice trails. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Map of trails attached.

Gilbert Run Park/Lake on Route 6 in LaPlata. It's a great walk around. Indy and I love it. I'm not sure how far it is around but it takes us about 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on how many pee stops we have ;)

Up your way is the ACLT or American Chestnut Land Trust. Google it... they have several areas that you can walk your dog. At least they did they last time I checked.

Calvert Cliffs does not allow dogs? Do they still charge to get in?

CC does not allow dogs but the rule really isn't enforced unless there is someone at the front booth. Personally, I don't mind if people take their dogs as long as they pick up after them. Every time I take the path to the beach, there is at least 2-3 piles that I need to avoid. It's just common courtesy people!

And yes, they still charge to get in but again, only enforced when someone is manning the front booth. Other than that, donations are accepted.

I go to Cedarville state park almost every day. I have a retractable leash attached to frame of my moutain bike and my German Shepherd loves it! My beagle stays off leash and lallygags behind. Although dogs are supposed to be leashed, I rarley see it. $3 to get in, lots of trails, streams and a pond to cool them off. I got a season pass for $75, it's worth it for how much I use it.
