Wally is doing well..he started the weaning process this week and is getting a bath 1-2-3 x a day...food and nw digestive track equals lose poops..yuck..

Anyway, I have put up new photos on SmugMug...his new ones begin on page #4.

Starts with this one....

More to follow tonight...
He is lapping formula and eating canned baby food.
he is almost 6 weeks old...( tomorrow) ..and is doing well.
I have him in a weaning box where he is learning litter box stuff....
this weekend I will move him to a larger cage with toys, a hammock, a "real" litterbox, and a lot more food choices ( water, solid kibble and canned kitten)
He will finish the formula option next week......

this wait is killing me. Isnt he just the most cutest kitten youve ever seen and his colors are really taking shape now. I love the patches of brown on his tail and ears. Ink, I havent forgotten to call, I will.

He does have a cute face adn nice big cheeks!!

He ate solid food today and got his first bowl of WATER!!!! No formula with breakfast or lunch.....
He will get a saucer of formula (KMR) tonight and he will have a bowl of Purnina kitten c=food for overnight snacks.
His poop is getting more solid as his system gets used to canned food...YEA!!!
Both of us are tired of baths 2-3 x a day ....
But he loves his baths and the blow dry and brushing afterwards!!

Oh..he got a much bigger tote box yesterday.....next new home will be a real cage with a hammock and a lot of toys and a real litter pan with real litter!!

He is now 6 weeks old!!!! ( more or less...)

Have not wormed him yet...
Had the abcess issue and then on formula he had perfect poop and the switch to canned he developed loose stools, until today when he started with formed....so now at 6 weeks I can worm him

He is adorable..I worm kittens every 2 weeks with strongid starting at 3 weeks.....try that...Flagyl if he keeps with diarrhea especially if it is smelley..

I use strongid too..just wanted to wait until he was done with antibitics and his abcess healed up..and I had him weaned.
He will be wormed tonight....fun!!!
And he is cute..and I had nothing to do with that!

Yes...I buy the horse tubes and follow directions as passed onto me by ...you know who.....

Wormed last night...nice poop today..plus he is on kibble and water..Yea!!!
Leg is doing better....He is climbing very well and walking without any issues.

I have a new one for panacur too same low price for a large amount. I will look it up and get back to ya...good for a 3 day clean out..I gave my old Tokio (large midwest) the other day. I do not need it anymore..

Well, I have an update on Wally...but I am waiting to talk to Bailydog beore I post it here.
All went well at the vet.
Wally had his xrays and got neutered and got his distemper.
He also found 2 new little orphan brothers to bring home.
One looks just like him...but smaller and Andy's eyes are a lighter blue.
Marly is a orange spotted white cat.
Both were neutered and are recovering..
I will post photos later....

Well, Wally had a life altering day.

Not only did he get neutered, he had 80% of his tail removed.
He now had a stump..when it all heals up and the fur grows back in, it will be a cute bobtail!
The tail had a sever fracture and the way it was positioned,and the nerve damage, he had difficulity holding it up out of the way to poop. He ended up with a very swollen and sore anus. Now, he can lift the stump and all will be fine!!!
Baily and I talked about this situation before he went to the vet. She was OK with the decission I would have to make.

Now, about his leg...it is weird..and possibly the result of forced trauma.
I will post the Xrays, as you can see it better than I can explain it.
But the short story, the radius in his right arm suffered a seperation at the growth plate. This mean his radius will never grow. His ulna is fine and growing well.
Sadly, the muscles along the radius will be shorter and "pull" the leg inward. Exercises, no kidding, will help stretch those muscles out.
(Oh, radius is the bone from the base of your thumb to the elbow. The ulna is on the outside of your arm)

Wally has no problem with the leg...as he knows no difference.
