Warhawk on PS3

(Moonchilds Hubby here)

I was part of the Beta test for this game, and its a blast. The variety of play modes, vehicular, infantry, and Warhawk, and the ability of someone else in the room with you, on your machine, sharing the battle, is just great.

For me, lots of online games like this are just too frenetic, and if you dont have 16yo reflexes, your toast. This one has a great balance, so its not just about razor fast reflexes. Each game can be a story:)

One time, it was a straight up team deathmatch. While holding a hilltop position near the enemy stronghold with two other guys, we kept getting sniped by the other side, one guy, on a raised platform. After about 4 deaths by sniping, I got fed up. I jumped in a Jeep, and drove like a madman over there, avoiding missile strike by Warhawks, and some tanks trying to kill me.

Made it there, and managed to climb up behind the sniper, who turned, but sadly, a sniper rifle isnt a good close up weapon. So, after I dispatched him, with the help of a friendly Warhawk, I stayed up there, a thorn in their sides for the rest of the match.

Sorry if I got carried away, the betas been over for a while now, and I cant wait for the release.

A must buy game if you have a PS3, IMHO.

That looks awesome. I'm still confused about what system I want and this makes it an even harder decision.

It's kind of a Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD battle. There are soo many exlcusive titles for each system out there as well.

Here are the pro's the way I see it:
XBox 360 - Halo series, EA Sports(technically better, ie Madden 08 running at 60fps), really good software titles overall
PS3 - Gran Turismo, Free Online play, next generation of HD drive comes packaged with it, Wi-Fi
Wii - Interactivity with friends and system, fun titles

I'll probably get a PS3 at some point but I read somewhere that Blu-Ray is outselling HD-DVD 2:1

Having had this game for a week, and maybe 4-5 hours playtime, its worth every penny. Yep, online only, but in an odd way, that kinda heightens the fun. The kills and survivals are that much more enjoyable.

Being hunted as infantry by a Warhawk, dodging machine gun strafing til you get to that RPG (really more of a Stinger in usage) and turn the tables on that hovering death machine.......

A sniper fight that ends with both of you going down, only because you held tight when you saw him lining up on you through the scope.....

Joining a group of teammates at the forward most point, knowing its surrounded by bad guys, and that the bad guys will be waiting, trying to retake that point......


Lots of fun.........

Ive been thinking about buying it. Whats the difference if I get it online or at the store? Just the ability to have the disc?
