Miranda Massie, a Detroit civil rights attorney, believes neither teen should be charged. "My heart went out to these poor kids," Massie said. "I believe it is a terrible mistake to be charged at all. This is a tremendous waste of public resources.

I dont know .. maybe it's just me, but I find it terribly disturbing that this act is acknowledged as murder -


... but if a 'doctor' does it, it's just fine and dandy.


If the issue was "choice" and "women's right to do what they want with their bodies", then why can't they choose to let their ignorant boyfriends beat them in the gut with a bat?


This story is just fcked up on many different levels.

I think you should be able to kill any child you have given birth to at any time and just call it a post-natal abortion :shrug:

I don't know.. can you legally abort a third trimester fetus?? The baby was in it's SIXTH month.. why they can't charge them with murder is beyond me, becasue I am SURE that there are premies surviving at that point..

I've had similar thoughts as the two kids involved, over the years due to the different folks that I have met.

Several times, I thought that I'd like to beat them, to prevent them from being able to reproduce. :shrug:

Who cares what the county "gains" by the charges? The people should care to send a clear message that these two scum sucking poor excuses for human beings can't get away with their crime and people who do the same will also be punished. Otherwise, they'll be more "baseball bat abortions" ... :burning: UFB! :banghead:

I'll step up and say I'm not particularly sorry their spawn will never see the light of day. But I think anyone who would do that - the beating and taking the beating - should be socially Darwinized. Eventually they WILL procreate and bring a fetus to term and pass thier flawed genes onto it and it will become our problem.

You have to wonder about a girl that will let her boyfriend beat her with a baseball bat.

I agree, but I'd rather wonder about her when she's in solitary confinement and he's behind bars.

But everyone is up in arms about Tigger and her raising her kid in a poor environment, yet we also want to get upset when people like this kill their kid outright instead of torturing it to death. It makes no sense.

In my dictatorship women who don't demonstrate proper parenting techniques and common sense will be sterilized and possibly put to death. Hello6 is going to be my Chief of Staff.

In all that we know concerning the inescapable maternal instincts of most women, how could this young woman consent to such a horrid kind of act? UFB!

She had to know she was allowing the murder of her child. I'm trying to understand, but it's not coming through. Everytime I try to look at her possible reasons, from diverse angles as to why she would consent to this, I draw a blank. :ohwell:

Don't get me wrong; I agree that people who are mentally incapacitated should NOT procreate (can I be 'secretary' :shrug:). However, in the event they do, adoption is a far better option than having your b/f beat the hell out of you to get rid of the 'mistake'. If they don't want the responsibility or can't handle raising a child, there are thousands of other people out there who will give it a good home.

Roe v Wade would have made a third-trimester abortion illegal but the liberal courts have eliminated that barrier.

Late-term abortions are the reason for development of the procedure popularly termed "partial-birth abortion." [I initally had a graphic description of what happens at this point. But decided to spare the forum.]
