WARNING!! People giving away free animals...

PLEASE consider a small fee. The person coming to pick up your 'free' animal that you have cared for could be from a lab for animal testing. Worse yet, they could be using them for pitbull bait. I know, I almost 'gave' a cat to someone that was going to do this. I was also asking for a 'donation' to my favorite rescue and they were willing to pay it. I'm glad I found out beforehand.

These people pretend to want your free animal, but they are selling them to labs for testing.

How would one contact these labs that buy animals for testing?

Hypothetically.

Just give your free animal to the SPCA. They will make sure that people adopting animals have the ability to take proper care of the animal, and they will check to make sure that the home the animal is going to is safe and proper.

How do you know if they are legit or not? I have some kittens I will be giving away.

Be careful if you let him on the deck.

 Are you refering to your deck pooper?

My mom has a JRT that is 11. If it rains or snows she goes on the deck. That's even if she goes outside at all. :barf:

But, when giving away a kitten or puppy, how does one know... what kinds of questions do you ask that they will honestly answer

You don't really know. Even if you ask a small fee, you can never be sure. But a fee will deter some people. That's why spaying and neutering is a good idea. Less free kitten and pups available and more people will adopt from shelters. :yay:

If I ever give my dog Petie away it will be to Pixiegirl so you don't have to worry about me.

I think you should give him to me. At least bring him over to play with Mily.

Actually, there is a problem in Calvert. People are stealing dogs. In one instance, sections of fencing were removed and the dogs were taken.
Trying to steal my dogs would be almost like trying to steal my kids. I shoot first and ask questions later.
