Unless they are flat lying, I don't see any impropriety - and I certainly don't see any illegality (e.g. trading on inside information). I suspect it will get spun to the contrary however, once the (wider) press gets interested in the story.

With more details coming out, the more I think about this, the more I think Mr. Sokol's actions were, at the least, improper. I'm not sold on their illegality yet - that probably depends on the details (that I'm not sure about yet).
