Damn bob, throw your guns over your shoulder, jump on your bike and head up there to help them look for this bad guy since you know so much better. He's already killed onr police officet and several innocent bystanders, what's one more?

I can tell you this. If this happened in my county, in my neighborhood, whether they said to or not, I'm not going outside to become his next victim if I can stay inside and protect myself, my home and my kids. I'll wait while all you 8 foot tall and bullet proof macho men go out and find this lunitic. :coffee:

Call me when he's captured. I'll head out then.
Wouldn't it make sense for neighborhood men to be standing guard on street corners to help relieve cops of those duties so they can go do the cop thing?

Not in my opinion.

He was throwing gernades out the window. Do you seriously want to be standing on the corner when he comes through?

Have at it. I'll be inside watching the news. Let me know how that turns out for you.

Do I want to get killed? No. Men do things like stand guard so that the women can be safe inside.

If I had a man, I'd prefer he stood guard at my front door to keep our family and home safe instead of standing on a street corrner making himself a target. IMHO

We agree to disagree. :huggy:

I also think if every man stood on the street with guns to protect the city, it would make it harder for the police to find the bad guy.

I don't think I ever hinted towards the population, or me, hunting anyone down..

Getting on with life, and doing normal activities? I don't understand how the two relate.

BUT having the population on the move going about their normal daily activities increases the chances of somebody seeing this guy and reporting him.. or, better yet, if he chooses to invade somebody's home and take them hostage who's going to know? If everyone is holed up, and cowering in their homes how is anybody going to know that you're in trouble, and someone needs to come check on you? Whereas if you were supposed to be at work, of meet a friend for lunch, they'd know you didn't show up, and MAYBE just be concerned enough to have somebody go check on you.

The risk and probablity of getting hurt or killed are about the same whether you stay home, or go about your daily living..

I mean, if EVERYONE stayed home during the Boston Marathon nobody would have got hurt, but in reality the probability of any one person getting hurt that day was no greater or less than any other day. So would you chose to stay in your home EVERY day to make sure this NEVER happens to you!!?

You're going to be no safer in public next Monday than you were last Monday, so you have a choice to make.

The last I heard Boston-Watertown and maybe beyond-is a "crime scene"; a terrorist crime scene at that. Let the "professionals" do their job and thank your lucky stars this isn't happening in SOMD! IMHO.

and I made mine.

Getting on with normal life for me, would be sending my 7 year old to school with a mad man on the loose who has an agenda to kill a bunch of people. To me, that is not safer next Monday, unless they caught him.

He wants to blow people up. Who was the media taking about the most? The poor 8 year old that died because he went to watch a race.

If I were a terriorist on the loose trying to kill a bunch of innocent people after blowing up the Boston Marathon, I'd head to the school. The Sandy Brooke Elementry school still gets lots of attention in today's media.

I'm staying home out of the way, while the police find him.

If every person on that street were carrying a gun, they still would have blown up those bombs.

And everyone knows I am very pro-2A but would not have made an ounce of difference here.
If ever we are under siege, and I needed a safe place to go, I bet I wouldn't be the only one headed for Bob's house <G>. He would run off or kill any terrorist that showed up.

That's kind of my point.. so they find this ONE..

How many more are out there we don't know about.

He (they) could just be another Lanza.. no affiliation, no terrorist connection, just somebody intent on killing people.

Or he (they) is part of a terrorist organization, and this WAS planned.. So what do they have planned for next Monday? This could be the first of many. Boston, and the marathon may have been their first target, what's their next target?

AND still, we, and our kids, are no safer today, or Monday, than they were the day before the Lanza or the day before the marathon attacks.

So let me know when you feel safe enough to leave your home.

Let me see if I can help...

itsbob, they just issued a tornado watch for our area. That means I will now be alert to the weather and will be checking the conditions when the storm front hits to see if an actual tornado happens. I will also change any plans I had of outdoor events because now I have been alerted ahead of time to a potential serious threat. If the issue a warning for my area I will ensure that I know where my pets and family are and will take whatever action I can to try to protect us should it happen through my yard.

I did none of the above yesterday because there was no tornado threat to my family yesterday. I will most likely do not of these things tomorrow unless a weather threat pops up tomorrow.

I handle security threats the same. Does that help?

Yup. And in the mean time, how many people have been murdered in Boston and no one gives a crap? Why? Because it is very, very unlikely to happen to them. Just like getting blown up by some nut or being the ONE person they come across when 6,000 cops can't find him.

Probability. Fear! Fear! Fear!

And, for Kwill, a tornado is just a tad different.

Well since this thread is all about me, and not about tornado's or terrorist attacks.. I guess I can't answer.

Though I will say there are flaws in your logic.
