Warzone: Boston

Well since this thread is all about me, and not about tornado's or terrorist attacks.. I guess I can't answer.

Though I will say there are flaws in your logic.
Okay... let me try again.

I live within walking/running distance of a jail. A few years back one early evening a criminal escaped from the jail and the police were on a manhunt for him. When we were alerted of this event, hubby had been working in the garden. Son and I had been doing yard work. We immediately secured our area. We closed and locked the garage. We locked all vehicles. We all went into the house and locked all doors and then turned on the alarm system. We then went about our business indoors, but still on alert.

A few hours later it was announced that they apprehended the man. We then went back to our normal routine.

This was the 2nd time in the 20 plus years we've lived here that we've had to do that... and should the circumstances arise again... we would handle it the same way. I'm sure statistically speaking we could very well expect to go our entire lives without ever having an escaped convict steal or vehicle, invade our garage for weapons/hideout area or break into our home to hold us hostage, but under such threat we take precautions just the same.

Bob used to live near the nuke plant. I can just see him when the alarm goes off, out for a stroll.

Oh, fiddlesticks and poppycock. None of this happens in a vacuum, in a laboratory where we can change one thing at a time and control the impact on everything else.

If we are allowed to keep and bear arms that takes MILLIONS of sheep and turns a lot of them into shepherds. Maybe one of us, several of us, because we're allowed to look after ourselves, gets suspicious of the possible wolf in sheeps clothing. Some odd behavior, the setting down of a back back and walking away.

An armed society is a polite society. It is also a MUCH more aware society. Our freaked out childish approach to gun control has all sorts of serious, deep negative impacts not least of which is turning shepherds into sheep.

:lmao:
Ur killinn me. If u and I were there packing heat, tell me how we would have prevented this attack.

If ever we are under siege, and I needed a safe place to go, I bet I wouldn't be the only one headed for Bob's house <G>. He would run off or kill any terrorist that showed up.
Let me know how that works out fer ya... :lmao:

We wouldn't have. We'd have been drinking beer and shooting cans in an alley somewhere...

But, I'm not talking about us...

We heard of a guy running from the cops with a gun in town creek. Over the scanner. No one in the area was warned at all. This is different why?

Why would I apologize for you being too ignorant to get the point I was trying to make?

:killingme
I think you apologized because I caught you in yet another misleading statement. Then you went on your rant and were completely wrong in your assertions. When you realized what a dolt and idiot you were being because even your friends wouldn't support you, then for the first time I've seen in these forums you admitted you were an emotional idiot and was wrong.

really bob? Do you want to take on the same security measures some of those countries do? How much would you be screaming about violation of rights then? You are already lying to people here saying that rights have been violated. Wouldn't you cry even more if you were in israel?

the Israels do it with PROFILING ... when was the last time an Israeli Air Liner was Hijacked ?

How far do you think these guys would have gotten if we had an armed society?

430 in the morning I hear gun fire out on my street I am grabbing a Rifle dropping a .38 in my back pocket, my cell phone and a mag light from my car and checking out the commotion ... the police may need assistance

I don't think there is anything wrong with profiling, as long as it is behavior based rather than race based. Profiling, however is not Israel's only security measure. They are not afforded the same freedoms we are here.
