Watch out for this

Last week around Thursday there was an ad posted on somd.com (classifieds) for two english bulldog puppies. The ad said it was free to a good home, family can not keep. The e-mail address that the lady had was a marine corp. e-mail. My cousin had been looking for one so I sent her the link, and she contacted the lady. The lady said that her and her husband were stationed over here at Pax, and then they got shipped to Singapore. She claimed that where they were stationed at they couldn't keep them. The lady sent pictures, and everything of the 2 puppies! She told my cousin that she only needed to send $400 for the cost of shipping, and to send it money gram. So needless to say my cousin started thinking about, and thought to herself if it was a scam I'm sure they would ask for alot more money. So she sent her the money through money gram, the lady sent the flight schedule for the dog to be delivered 07/31/08. Yesterday morning the lady called her, and told her that the dog was held over in France. She then proceeded to tell her that she needed to send her $1200 more, reason being the airport is asking for it. :eyebrow:That's when my cousin got on the phone to the airport, and they said that there was no such thing. She has been trying to e-mail her, and you guessed it....no reply back. This lady is a scammer, and I'm sure she is not done trying to get people.

I just wanted to give everyone the lookout. Not sure if anyone else had seen the classified ad? Guess you really can't trust anything over the internet anymore.

This type of thing happens all the time. I would never just send $$$ somewhere and "hope" to get the dog in return. I will give the $$$ when I have the dog in my arms. I'd never buy a dog that's not even in the same country as me. I want a Tamaskan but they are more popular over-seas but there are a few breeders in the USA. Rather than buying a dog now, I'm going to wait until sometime next year when a breeder in NC will have puppies available for me to drive down and get.

I am sure there are plenty of bulldogs closer to home that would love to find a new home. Sorry she got scammed out of $400.

Help "Invisible Dogs"
Unfortunately this scam has been going on for quite awhile. Different names and stories, but same outcome.

It's usually true, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
