Water from Air!

This company is now producing and selling solar panels which can extract 2 gallons of water per day from the air. In concept, it works just like a dehumidifier, but instead of starting at room temp and chilling which requires a ton of energy, they offset the required temp differential to hot to room temp using solar energy. Not cheap tho. The more humid the region, the better it will work.

I saw this in a segment on This Old House, so not a fly-by-night thing.

Of course in humid regions, there's likely a lot of rain and/or ground water which means a homemade solar still would work just fine.
