I think they are similiar to pintos and I usually start them in the morning and simmer all day till they are soft but still have a little firmness to them....I make refried beans out of them and like the little bits of whole bean in the mash
I've heard that you can soak them overnight also, but I've never done this as I like the beans to simmer in the spice mixture

I haven't done wax beans in a while....I do pintos so I can make refried beans....I could not give you a exact account of all the seasonings that I use as I just do it to the taste of my kids and me

yea, but it's just the pod part of the bean....I've seen them dried

I just boiled some from my garden for about 10-15 minutes and they were good. Soft but slightly firm.

I'm thinking of a completely different bean then....guess it's all in where you grow up
They'll turn to mush, just cook them like green beans, they work good in green bean casserole.
