quiet you numbskulls..... way back when, we'd grab the mats outta my Mom's oldsmobile station wagon and slide down the hill behind the schoolhouse when I was knee high to a grasshopper.... That old Oldsmobile Estate ststion wagon had a big old V-8 and in the snowy weather of '62 we had a blast of a time...Bobby V was singing on some DC radio station with Fred Fiske.... we'd get a ride over to the MAC donalds and get a shake for 17 cents....

sorry, I was rambling on there a spell.....

I'd have guessed at those huge moon hubcaps they put on 50s cars with whitewalls and fenderskirts.

They looked to be the size of trashcan lids.

For your consideration ...

Took an old Pinto driver's seat and used that one year to slide down snow covered hills back in the day. Reclined it and locked it. Most comfortable makeshift sled, though just a bit heavy when taking it back up the hill. Rested our backs on the seat bottom while sitting on the backrest, and away we went.

Just sneakin' around....
Ya know, I'm glad I'm old......
Same. Not sure I could handle many more years of the direction we're going. There are a few signs of sensibility and return to 'normal', whatever that is now, but it will never be what it once was.
