I haven't had any problems with IPower: IPOWER

Net1Plus is a little more expensive but great support: NET1Plus

I didn't even know GCP was around!

When it comes to server space to house your site - it really doesn't matter where they are located since you will access them through the InterNet.

I'm with Mosso.com for about 20 sites I hold, and am looking at Amazon EC2 for some other stuff (but it is a bit above me, though kind of cheap for what you can do).

Cheap but how wrong can you get for a few bucks a year.

You get what you pay for but if it's just a personal website who cares.

I use it for non mission critical sites and have had very little trouble. Went down once for a few hours.

Since we only host existing clients and don't offer that service to new customers, I typically send people to iPowerweb. GoDaddy has too many nickle and dime fees, imo. "Here's the crap for $5 a month. Oh, you want admin control? That's an expensive upgrade, but we also give you a bunch of overkill junk you don't need, like 5 million email boxes and 3 dedicated IPs. Want to create a custom website instead of using our cheapo freebie templates? That'll cost you more."
