week 12

It’s week 12 and we’re getting near fantasy playoffs. Most leagues trade deadlines are up but you should still be able to add/ drop players.

WHO TO ADD:

Ladell Betts: Again, Clinton Portis is done. TJ Duckett shared decent time last week but Betts is still going to be the number one guy.
Devery Henderson: Marques Colston’s status is still unknown but Henderson can put up some numbers when he’s thrown to.
Jeff Garcia: McNabb is done, Garcia is just getting started back up. The guy had 3 3000+ yards seasons in SF and 2 30+ TD seasons. Not only should you pick him up, you should probably start him.
Arlen Harris: The status is still unknown for Kevin Jones and the Lions play Thursday. You should pick him up just in case.
DeAngelo Williams: DeShaun Foster will be back this week, but you got a glimpse of what is to be.
Ernest Wilford: The Jags WR corps hadn’t sparked much this year, Wilford is working on it.
Braylon Edwards: Other than Winslow, Edwards is the only Brown worth playing every week.
Bo Scaife: Ben Troupe is haunted by nagging injuries this season if you have 2 bad TEs, replace both with this guy. If you already have productive TEs, don’t worry about Scaife.
Terrance Copper: With Brees spreading the ball around so much, even the number 3 and 4 WRs are getting some action. He’s had 179 yds and 2 TDs in the last 2 weeks. That’s better than any two week span most of your number twos have had.
Reche Caldwell: He was a threat in SD and is making his rounds nicely in NE as of late.

WHO TO DROP:

Seneca Wallace: People didn’t think he would play last week, his odds are a lot lower this week.
Maurice Morris: The MVP is back.
McNabb: He’s out for the season.
Leftwich: Gone for the season.
Andrew Walter: Didn’t do much for you when he was playing, will do even less now that he is not playing.
Damon Huard: Trent Green is back for good.
Mark Brunnell: Even Joe Gibbs couldn’t give a good reason to keep him in the starting lineup.
Culpepper: Harrington has won 3 straight and Culpepper might not EVER be healthy again.
LaMont Jordan: Read “Andrew Walter” above.
And even though these should have been known, people in one of my leaques own the following players: Ron Dayne, LenDale White, Eric Moulds, Michael Clayton, Malcom Floyd, Alex Smith (TE TB), and Jermaine Wiggins. Why?

INJURY REPORT:

Tony Gonzales: You should be able to play him Thursday.
Matt Hasselbeck: He’s still on the injury report, but he should be back this week.
Brett Favre: Of course he has a minor injury, of course he’ll play.
McNabb: Done for the season, drop him.
Leftwich: Done for the season, drop him.
Culpepper: With the fish winning 3 straight, Culpepper probably won’t start even if he ever gets healthy.
Kevin Jones: His status is still hasn’t been announced, keep him on the bench until you hear otherwise.
DeShaun Foster: He’ll be back this week.
Willis McGahee: Still on the bench.
Reuben Droughns: His status is still unknown.
Lamont Jordan: Might be out the rest of the season, even if he comes back, he hasn’t given a reason to start him.
Tatum Bell: Still questionable for Thursday, Mike Bell is a better choice anyway since he gets the TDs.
Marques Colston: His status is still unknown. His injury didn’t look too bad and is likely to play this weekend.
Santana Moss: Already took a week off to nurse a hammy. He should be back this week.
Arnaz Battle: He just had surgery Monday and will be in a cast for at least part of the week. Keep him on the bench.
Ernest Wilford: He’ll likely be back in the lineup this week but might not be as productive as in week 11.
Bobby Engram: He’ll be back this week and should get some more attention with Hasselbeck returning.

WHO AND WHO NOT TO PLAY:

QB: Must Start

Ben
Romo
Vick
Peyton
Palmer
Hasselbeck
Favre
Bulger
McNair
Delhomme

QB: Don’t start

Gradkowski
Plummer
Green
Johnson
Carr
Garrard
Losman
Brooks

Other QBs:

Brees: Facing Atlanta’s D doesn’t help much, Dante Hall can only cover 1 WR though.
Brady: Facing CHI D, need I say more?
Rivers: Don’t let Oakland’s pass D fool you, while they only “allow” 157.1 yds per game, they allow 60.6% completion. Hint: you don’t have to pass against Oakland.

RBs Must Start:

LT
Westbrook
Jackson
Gore

Tiki made a good backup
C Taylor
F Taylor made the top 24
T Henry
M Barber
Jones-Drew

RBs Musn’t start:

Edge
C Williams
Maroney
Dillon

Other RBs: LJ, Thomas Jones, Willie Parker, Anthony Thomas, and Jamal Lewis have all been doing great lately but face tough run defenses that allow low yards and TDs.
Wali Lundy and Samkon Gado should both do decent against the Jets D and Rueben Droughns, if he plays, is also favorable against the Bengal’s D.

WRs to start:

Coles
Wayne
Harrison
C Johnson
Burress
Smith
K Johnson
A Johnson
R Williams
D Jack
B Edwards
Driver
M Robinson

WRs to sit:

McCardell
E Parker

Galloway
Reggie Brown
Furrey
S Holmes
Price

Housh
Berrian
Stallworth

Other WRs: Bryant Johnson and Roddy White have favorable matchups as burners against teams who let you burn ‘em.

I’m not doing TEs anymore since you should only have one. Don’t forget to submit your lineup early since games start Thursday. Good luck

Willis McGahee will likely be back this week. Keep Anthony Thomas until sunday night just incase McGahee re-aggrivates his ribs.
