Customers were able to scan, bag and pay for groceries through the app to skip checkout lines altogether.

“Unfortunately, the losses we are experiencing prevent us from continuing to make it available in its current state,” the company wrote in a statement. “We’ve made the decision to turn off the app until we can make improvements that will meet the needs of our customers and business.”

The app was introduced in 2019.

Not surprising.

Scum will always take advantage of an honor system. They have none.

Or a mail in balloting system. The one thing that works besides surveillance is punishing those who get caught severely enough that no one wants to try it. You can never bank on everyone being honest.

Currently, it's so wide open, it's like those smash and grabs and law enforcement just lets it happen.

They will go to a Sam's Club type of store exit. Scan 3 items after scanning the receipt. After people get caught with items not on their list they'll stop.
