Okay, so I'm on SMIBs online (SOMD), and I go to navigate back a page. I click...and nothing appears to happen. So, I click again to go back a page, and the browser moves back. I happened to look at the down arrow that shows you a list of pages you've been to, and I noticed several of the following:
https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/page

And I'm not sure what else is in the string. Anyone know anything about this?

I had this happen a few times on here and it was adware. It seems to happen when I view the obituaries, mostly. I hear a lot of clicking.

You can do an anti virus scan but it's faster & easier to just click the "tools" down arrow, internet options, then delete cookies and browsing history and you're back to the normal one click.

you done got dat ol' cyber syphillis from one of dem nasty websites :killingme

That's why I only, er, accidently find myself on those nasty websites using one computer, not both.

I did some googling last night, and it's a problem that pops up and goes away every few years. It appears to be an attempted hijacking by doubleclick, but it's old software. Browsers nowadays won't let it happen, but I almost guarantee if you were to use a really old internet exploiter (I have a copy of 4.0 around here somewhere), you would get taken to another site.

I do find it curious that the url leads to a secure site, with an https leading the string.

Sometimes I need to click the back button once and twice to navigate to the previous page.

It is the advertisements. For each click, one advertisement turns into a:

The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
