This is what C.S. Lewis tried to warn us about in The Abolition of Man (non-fiction) and again in That Hideous Strength (fiction; the final book in his so-called "Space Trilogy" and a fictional "application" of TAoM).
I heartily recommend both. While it's part of a "trilogy" one doesn't have to read the first two books for That Hideous Strength to make sense (it's a bit of a fantasy to begin with, so buckle up if you choose to dive in!).
