Well Pressure Tank

If anyone's replacing their well pressure tank, I'd be more than happy to take the old one and save you a trip to the dump.

I don't care if it works or not; if the bladder is broken or worn out it doesn't matter. As long has it hasn't rusted through and doesn't leak, i'm interested.

Thanks!

nah.... i'm making a vacuum tank for collecting waste vegetable oil. I'm using a 12 gallon compressor tank right now, but that's only about a week's worth of oil for me and I'd like to be able to collect more at one time. I'm running my car on the stuff!!!

Do you do transesterification?

No... that's too much trouble (it's already work)! Plus you end up buying, creating, and having to dispose of a bunch of noxious chemicals.

The early '80s Mercedes 3.0 L diesel seems quite happy running on straight vegetable oil. All I do is heat it, filter it, and put it in the car! I still need diesel to start the engine and to purge the injection system before shutting it down, but not much. I just filled up my diesel tank last week for the first time in ages. I noticed that I drove 3,139 miles on 17.1 gallons of fuel -- that's 183 MPG!!!

If anyone's interested... look here:

www.greasecar.com

you can do it from scratch, but the GreaseCar kit was really nice... took me two long days to get it installed and working...

The part where you want to put some thought is in the collection, filtering, and storing of oil. The conversion takes a weekend... the rest lasts as long as you want. I've got it down to about 5 minutes to collect the oil, and maybe another 5 or 10 minutes of prepping it. It's not for everyone, but I'm cheap and willing to do a lot to save money!!!

Oh, I forgot... it's good for the environment (carbon neutral, good use of a waste product, less particulate matter than diesel fuel, etc.) and it reduces our dependence on foreign oil so we don't need to fight wars in places that make oil...

there, do I seem a little less right-wing?

Now, where'd I put my Birkenstocks?!?!?
