I don't know why they even bother to arrest anyone

For your consideration ...

File under the intentional undermining and destruction of this Nation. Ya see? Because when the laws of this land are not enforced, it keeps the people in fear, angst, dread, and distress, and in line at all times in the continued, false, "hope" that the judicial system will keep them safe from the bad guys. Big brother is the good guy here.

But hey now. Do not worry. Because our elected folks are working extrermly hard on this problem by writing new laws such as, Senate Bill 1/Gun Safety Act of 2023, which would prohibit those with concealed-carry permits to take their firearms within 100 feet of any public place. And, Senate Bill 86/Raise the Age Act of 2023, which would increase the minimum age to legally own a rifle or shotgun in Maryland to 21. And, Senate Bill 113/Gun Industry Accountability Act of 2023, which would allow the victims of gun violence or surviving family members to file civil lawsuits against gun makers.

All of these possible new laws, in addition to the one's currently on the books, are guaranteed, fer sure fer sure uh huh uh huh, to keep us safe. As well as being fully enforced once passed.

Again, who will show up at our doors to confiscate our weapons? Not the petty tyrants who have passed the laws, but their armed mercenaries who we euphemistically refer to as law enforcement who will barely be able to contain their laughter as they emphatically state "We're only doing our job man!"

Antwan Jovan Cole, age 39 of Accokeek
On January 20, 2023, at 3:15 p.m., detectives assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Section (NES), with assistance from the Neighborhood Enforcement Team (NET), served a search warrant at a home in the 8000 block of Gilroy Road in Nanjemoy as part of an ongoing investigation.

Just prior to serving the warrant, the NET officers observed the subject of the investigation driving on Hawthorne Road. They initiated a traffic stop at which time NES detectives responded and recovered cocaine from his person.

Detectives continued with the search warrant inside the home and recovered two handguns, two rifles, a shotgun and ammunition in addition to drug production equipment.

A computer check revealed the suspect, Antwan Jovan Cole, 39, of Nanjemoy, is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous felony drug conviction in 2000.

Cole was arrested and charged with illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of drugs with the intent to distribute and other drug-related charges.

Cole was held on a no bond status for 48 hours until January 24, when a judge ordered Cole could be released on his own recognizance from the Charles County Detention Center as long as he meets the conditions for electronic monitoring.
